Mertasari Beach in Sanur is one of important asset for Sanur Kauh and Denpasar communities. Mertasari Beach coastal area that suffered by sea erosion had rehabilitated two years ago. The beach reformed was supported by Denpasar government, villages, traditional communities, Sanur people and also tourism businesses. The beach rehabilitation is not only to manage the sea erosion but also for tourists’ comforts.
On September 15, 2006, at 07.00, there was an afforestation activity that took place at Mertasari Beach.

The afforestation was attended by government representatives, Non Government Organizations (including PPLH Bali), students, Sanur Kauh Village people, Sekaa Teruna-Teruni Sanur Kauh (Sanur Kauh Village’s Youth Organization) and local reporters. The aim of the beach afforestation is to green the coastal area. The tree plantation was conducted along the coast line of Mertasari Beach and the kinds of the tree planted were coconut tree and pine tree.(As)
